Working Through The Spring Daze

It’s tax day. I mean, it’s not like we were loving the government right now anyway but doesn’t it just seem extra sucky this year?

Maybe that’s why this newsletter feels… not fun. I don’t want some clickbait alarmist title but, well, we gotta get the sucky stuff done.

The good news is Marit Digital is here to help! I’m going to try to drop some positivity nuggets in the middle to keep you going. Also, lots of goodies in “What We’re Reading.” Stay with me!

Doing the Chores

This time of year feels weighed down by the “chores” of life. In addition to tax day, this is the season of spring cleaning, vacation budgeting, booking kids camps, and dump runs. It’s not that these things aren’t important – on the contrary, they’re critical. It’s just that they’re not, well… fun. (But if you enjoy spring cleaning – call me!)

And not to pile on, but there’s business and technology chores, too. When was the last time you looked through your subscriptions to confirm what you’re paying for? Have you cleared out unused tech on your laptop or website? What outstanding to-do items have been on your list for months? While these may not come with the same existential dread as taxes, they’re no less prone to  procrastination, especially since they don’t come with a deadline.

Unfortunately, while they may not have a calendar deadline, tasks like these have their own ticking clock. The cost, security, and functionality implications of ignoring these items comes with their own peril. At Marit Digital, we get more clients than we’d like when Bad Things Happen.

We would much rather start working with you on an intentional timetable. Consider signing up now for tasks you know you need to get done–

  • Site Review – All of our Web Hosting clients will be hearing from us in the coming weeks with a first step for scheduling their annual website review. If you’re not a client, but need help checking in on your site’s users, plugins, SEO, and configurations, get in touch!
  • Site Analytics & Reporting – Do you have analytics set-up for your site? And are you doing anything with that data? Let’s plan some time to make sure you’re collecting and using your data.
  • Policies – The only thing more fun than taxes is policy. But these statements are important to complete AND review. Get in touch for help with privacy, cookie consent, and AI statements for your organization.

And remember, when you complete a task – especially one you really don’t enjoy, you get an amazing boost. Checking the box on those to-do items is extra sweet.posts are more likely to reach the right people.
