AI Use stats + Shopping season!

According to Gallup, nearly 7 in 10 employees never use AI and only 1 in 10 use it weekly.

If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. Only 15% of employees feel like their organization has “communicated a clear AI strategy.” Employees do not feel well-informed about how to use AI, including a lack of sufficient AI training, and missing organizational guidance or best practices.

This is despite the increasing investment we’re making – whether or not we like it – as many of our tech subscriptions bend to the peer pressure to include AI in every tech offering.

What’s the missing piece?

The Gallup piece suggests that your culture may not be AI-ready. Employees do want training, and seem to be more successful when that training is applied to their specific jobs. But they also need clear approval, usage guardrails, and leadership that incorporates AI into existing processes and everyday conversations.

AI + Culture

Here it comes, kids. Black Friday is right around the corner, and Christmas is close behind.

This newsletter is not typically a place for you to find buys, but I recently posted budget tech gifts for my Cary Magazine column and found plenty to add to my own Christmas list… <cough>laptop bag</cough>

It’s also helpful to have business items ordered and ready ahead of the holiday, so now is the time to do some shopping!
