Hi! My name is Jen McFarland. I’ve spent 20+ years helping people with their web and IT problems; I’m excited to have the opportunity to help you with yours.
I started at the IT Help Desk at NC State University as an undergrad and worked on IT training and documentation resources before transitioning into working on websites. Over a period of more than 15 years I worked on hundreds of NC State websites, doing everything from content designs to building and administering WordPress multisite environments. During this time I also did print and digital design for newsletters, presentations, conference materials, and digital signage.

In 2020 I transitioned to managing ServiceNow, an IT service management product, and helped to coordinate services and train users expanding that tool for campus. In 2021 I moved away from higher education and spent about a year in the private sector as a Senior Project Manager with 10up, an award-winning digital agency. The Great Resignation and a great daughter starting kindergarten pushed me to make a career shift and start my own business — Marit Digital.
Along the way I completed my undergrad at NC State and received an M.S. in Technical Communication. I have also completed numerous trainings and certifications on ITIL, Google Analytics, leadership and project management.
My greatest hope is to improve a user’s experience with technology. Whether you’re a business owner or end-user, your technology experiences should be as painless as possible and save you time and energy. Let’s make it happen.

About Marit Digital
Marit Digital was born of a desire to help people and make technology easier.
Everywhere I go, I see people trying new and exciting things, using their skills to make amazing products and provide valuable services.
But for some, the distractions of keeping a website up-to-date, administering a Google Workspace, understanding analytics, or making Canva designs Instagram-ready are getting in the way of your day job.
I can help.
